about us
What does our name "erjjio" mean? Pronounced "urge-ee-oh", it’s based on our mission to urge the world's websites owners to make the switch over to 100% renewable energy and sustainable web design techniques.
The Internet has a surprisingly large environmental impact because of the energy guzzled by data centres behind the scenes, and we want to change that. We craft engaging websites which are powered by 100% renewable energy and engineered to minimise their carbon footprint.
A note from our founder
In these highly uncertain times, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by the challenges we’re all facing. Despite the world’s attention having turned to the pandemic, war and cost-of-living crises, the climate emergency remains an urgent and enormous threat to our future.

We also understand the blood, sweat and tears that go into creating, growing and maintaining a business. We’re here to support you. We create engaging, low-carbon websites which help bring your ideas to life, and we take care of all the complicated stuff - so you don't have to.
On top of that, we strongly believe in using business as a force for good and in early 2024 we successfully became a Certified B Corporation®, having demonstrated that we meet high standards of social and environmental impact. I started the business following 10 years working at a FTSE 100 technology company in London, where I supported and managed market-leading software and websites. I grew tired of the corporate lifestyle and wanted to put my skills and experience to use on a new challenge which more directly aligned with my personal values. So at the end of 2016, I decided to step away and build my own company where I could help people make a difference to the world through the use of technology.
Everyone in my team has been carefully hand-picked not only for their hot-shot skills, but also their enthusiasm for the environment and sustainability. I’m extremely proud of them and we'd be thrilled to have the opportunity to work with you.
