A major rebrand for a leading sustainability consultancy
Day Zero is a music festival held in the Mayan jungle surrounding Tulum in Mexico and the Masada desert in Israel. It was founded in 2012 by one of the world’s leading electronic music artists, Damian Lazarus, to coincide with the final day of the Ancient Mayan Calendar.
The festival has a strong focus on respecting and preserving the natural environment, with a sustainability program in place that ensures the event’s continued return to the ancient lands it inhabits. Attendees are actively encouraged to be caring and mindful of their impact and the team also enlists industry professionals whose sole purpose is to leave their event sites cleaner than they found them and free of dangerous pollutants.
The existing Day Zero website was very basic and it needed to be completely revamped to position Day Zero as a global brand, handling information and tickets for its worldwide events.
We created an engaging, cutting-edge new concept which captures the mysticism of their ancient Mayan influences whilst positioning the festival as a modern, forward-thinking brand. We also provided them with substantially upgraded server capabilities using our hosting Performance Boosts, so that they can comfortably handle extreme spikes in website traffic during their major ticket releases.
